The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has implemented a new validation process for used vehicle imports lacking a valid Certificate of Roadworthiness (CoR), effective immediately.

• Importers must now submit documents like logbooks and export certificates to local offices of Quality Inspection Services Japan (QISJ) for validation prior to inspection.
• This directive aims to prevent the importation of vehicles with forged or misrepresented documentation.
• Vehicles must comply with the KS 1515:2000 standards, ensuring they do not exceed eight years from the year of first registration.
