The former head of the Kenya Film Classification Board, Ezekiel Mutua, has been ordered to repay Ksh.27 million due to an irregular salary increase during his tenure.

• Ksh. 27,612,360 was the amount Mutua was surcharged by the Inspectorate of State Corporations on 8th October 2024.
• The State Corporations Appeal Tribunal upheld the surcharge, reinforcing that the salary increase was unlawful.
• The increase was described as a loss of public funds after being approved without input from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission and the Cabinet Secretary.
