The High Court has allowed the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) to join a petition from Thika Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo contesting search warrants issued by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) regarding a corruption investigation.

• Ksh 2.07 million in cash was allegedly recovered by the EACC during a search at Atambo’s residence.
• The petition, filed on 17th March 2025, claims the search warrant was defective and undermined judicial independence.
• The EACC plans to transfer the case to the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Division, with a hearing scheduled for 7th October 2025.
