Naivasha lawmaker Jayne Kihara has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for allegedly undermining the authority of a public officer after referring to President William Ruto as “mad.”

• The DCI has ordered Kihara to appear at their headquarters on July 14 at 10.30 am.
• Kihara, an ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, is known for her criticisms of the current administration.
• She claims the summons is an act of political persecution aimed at silencing dissent.
