The Court of Appeal (CoA) has overturned a 2018 ruling by the High Court, allowing an appeal from Kevian Kenya Limited against Hipora Business East Africa Limited regarding a disputed debt of Sh2.8 million.

• The court found that the debt was “substantially disputed” and required further examination.
• The ruling involved a three-judge bench including Justices Jamila Mohammed, F. Ochieng, and A.O. Muchelule.
• Kevian claimed it overpaid Hipora by Sh279,092.65 and that Hipora ignored reconciliation requests sent in late 2016 and early 2017.
