Indonesian police have dismantled an international baby trafficking syndicate that reportedly sold at least 25 infants to buyers in Singapore since 2023.

• Authorities made 13 arrests and rescued 6 babies during recent operations in the cities of Pontianak and Tangerang.
• Surawan, director of general criminal investigation for West Java Police, detailed the syndicate's operations, including targeting vulnerable parents through social media.
• The babies were sold for between 11 million and 16 million Indonesian rupiah (approximately $673 to $1,056), with indications that some parents may have agreed to the sales due to financial difficulties.
