Police Constable Jackson Kipkoech Konga has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of his superior, Sergeant Christopher Kimeli, by the Nakuru High Court.

• The murder occurred on August 8, 2023, following a confrontation at the K9 Unit in Nakuru East Sub-County.
• Konga admitted to a heated altercation with Kimeli, during which a struggle over a firearm led to the fatal shot being fired.
• Justice Julius Nangea ruled that Konga's response to provocation was disproportionate and intentional, confirming the prosecution proved the charge beyond reasonable doubt.
