Elders from various villages in Rumuruti Ward staged a protest at Rumuruti Police Station, demanding the return of seven stolen cows and the arrest of suspects allegedly released under unclear circumstances.

• Over 200 young men returned empty-handed from Wiyumiririe Police Post after pursuing the stolen livestock.
• The cows were stolen on July 8 while grazing at ADC Mutara.
• The community accused a police officer of collusion, demanding their arrest and the production of suspects and stolen livestock.
• Rumuruti OCS Amos Mutie and Assistant County Commissioner Florence Muriuki assured residents of ongoing investigations and disciplinary action against corrupt officers.
• Elders called for the enforcement of the traditional 1:3 rule for compensation.
