Another Kenyan activist, Mwabili Mwagodi, has reportedly been abducted in Tanzania, just weeks after six other Kenyan activists, including Boniface Mwangi, were detained in the same country. Vocal Africa CEO Hussein Khalid confirmed that Mwagodi was allegedly abducted on Wednesday, July 21, by unknown individuals.
- Mwabili Mwagodi, an activist vocal against churches receiving donations from politicians, had launched a campaign dubbed Occupy the Church targeting rogue preachers.
- Hussein Khalid of Vocal Africa criticized President Samia Suluhu's administration for allegedly targeting Kenyan activists without justification, demanding Mwagodi's immediate release.
- Mwagodi's wife stated he went missing on Wednesday at around 10 p.m., on his way to Dar es Salaam, after opting to use public transport and his phone subsequently went off.
