Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has condemned a recent surge in violence and property destruction in the Mount Kenya region, linking it to political opponents. Speaking in Maragua, Murang’a County, during a women empowerment campaign, Kindiki urged for respectful political competition focused on development agendas rather than confrontation.

• Kindiki's itinerary later included a similar engagement in Muhoroni, Kisumu County.
