The Kenyan government has clarified that the policy on free primary and secondary education has not been scrapped, despite earlier concerns. Instead, the Ministry of Education plans to lobby Parliament to increase the education budget to address funding deficits for capitation and national examinations.

• A new education data system, Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS), will replace NEMIS to enhance accuracy and efficiency in capitation distribution.
