Govt to Conduct Mandatory Visits to Kenyan Properties

Officers will begin going around the country in two months...
✨ Key Highlights
The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has announced mandatory visits to all coffee farms in Kenya within the next two months to conduct geo-mapping. This initiative is to comply with the new European Union Deforestation Regulations (EUDR), aiming to prevent deforestation-linked products from entering the EU market.

- The mapping teams, under the EUDR Data Committee, include the State Department of Agriculture (SDA) and the Kenya Space Agency (KSA).
- The deadline for completing the mapping of remaining coffee production areas is December 30, with Kenya facing a risk of losing up to Ksh90 billion in coffee exports if compliance is not met.
