The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) will conduct the 2025 Remittances Household Survey (RHS) from July to September, with officers visiting select homes to gather data on remittances. This survey, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), aims to understand remittance flows, their usage, and impact to inform government policies.

• Over the next two months, KNBS officers will visit households that have transacted funds with people living abroad.
• The survey, the first of its kind in Kenya, seeks to understand how money is sent, transaction costs, challenges, and how recipients use the funds.
• KNBS has assured that all collected information will be kept confidential and used solely for statistical purposes, not for tax or legal enforcement.
• This follows the launch of the year-long door-to-door 2025/26 Kenya Integrated Household Budget Survey (KIHBS) on July 16, 2025, targeting 24,480 scientifically sampled households.
