The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has committed to rectifying historical ethnic imbalances in its staffing during an ongoing recruitment drive. Board Chairperson Ndiritu Muriithi acknowledged past disparities, including a High Court ruling last year that declared a 2023 recruitment unconstitutional due to disproportionate hiring from two communities.

• KRA is currently recruiting four commissioners, 12 deputy commissioners, and nearly 30 chief managers.
• Chairperson Ndiritu Muriithi stated that assistance from a human resource organization will ensure fairness in the current process.
• A 2023 recruitment, where 57% of 1,400 new positions went to members of two communities, was declared unconstitutional by the High Court.
