The Kenyan government, in partnership with the World Bank, is launching the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) program to provide employment opportunities for nearly 900,000 youths starting next month. This initiative aims to enhance employability and skills for vulnerable and unemployed youth, including those with disabilities.

• Under the On-the-Job program, 90,000 youth will receive Ksh6,000 monthly stipends for three- to six-month paid placements.
• The NYOTA program, endorsed by the Cabinet, is a flagship initiative set to launch by August 2025, targeting over 820,000 youth.
• Applications for the On-the-Job program opened on July 11 and close on August 15, with over one million applications already received.
