• The substance, Hydrochlorothiazide, is a diuretic used to treat high blood pressure but banned in sports as a potential masking agent or for rapid weight loss.
• The AIU classified the suspension as a "notice of charge issued," meaning Kemboi is not yet officially banned.
• Notably, world marathon female record holder Ruth Chepngetich also tested positive for the same substance on July 17.
