- The new law changes the tenure for Director-Generals of agencies like KERRA, KURA, and KENHA from a five-year, renewable once term, to a three-year term, renewable once.
- The legislation, signed on August 8, 2025, also applies the same term length to the Director-General of the Kenya Roads Board (KRB).
- A transitional clause allows Director-Generals in their first term to be eligible for a one-year reappointment to ensure seamless leadership changes.
