A tragic road accident on Saturday, August 9, along Namanga Road in Kajiado County resulted in the deaths of at least seven people after a matatu and a lorry were involved in a head-on collision. This incident occurred at the Korompoi area on the Isinya-Namanga highway.

• The matatu, belonging to Nailepu Sacco, sustained severe damage, unlike the lorry which had relatively minor damage.
• The deceased were transported to a nearby mortuary, while the injured were taken to a local hospital; the exact number of injured is yet to be confirmed.
• This crash followed another fatal accident on Friday, August 8, at the Coptic Roundabout on the Kisumu-Kakamega Road, where 25 people died, believed to be mourners returning from a funeral.
• The NTSA Director General has dispatched a road safety team to investigate the cause of the Namanga Road crash.
