The Kenyan government has committed to covering the full funeral costs for all 26 victims of the recent fatal bus crash in Kisumu. This significant assistance also extends to covering medical expenses for the 26 survivors admitted to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

• The government will cover mortuary bills, coffins, and transport for the funeral program.
• Vincent Kodera, chairperson of the funeral committee, stated a pay bill number, 8010747, has been opened to support bereaved families.
• The burial of the victims is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, in Koguta village, Nyakach Sub-county, Kisumu, following a requiem mass on Thursday at Naki AIC Church.
