The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has launched new applications for a teacher upgrade program and the September 2025 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) intake.

• The teacher upgrade program allows teachers with P1 or Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) certificates to obtain a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE).
• Applicants for the teacher upgrade must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome stated the program aims to address potential teacher shortages and equip teachers for the Competency Based Curriculum.
• KUCCPS has reopened TVET applications for the September intake, running from August 8–22, with reduced fees of KSh 500.
