Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has criticized the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) decision to hold 23 mini-polls on November 27, stating it violates Article 101(4)b of the Constitution which mandates by-elections within 90 days of vacancies.

The IEBC has scheduled by-elections for 16 ward seats in a first batch, and a second batch including the Baringo Senate seat, six National Assembly constituencies, and one ward seat.
The IEBC, led by Erustus Ethekon, will oversee the polls, with public officers intending to vie required to resign within seven days of the notice.
The official campaign period will run from Wednesday, October 8, 2025, until Monday, November 24, 2025.
