A recent Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) survey reveals that Kenyan men consistently spend more time on the internet than women across all age groups. This digital gender gap is most significant among young adults aged 25 to 34 years.
- 64 percent of men in the 25-34 age bracket use the internet, compared to 54.5 percent of women, making it the group with the highest overall internet usage at 59.3 percent.
- The study, part of the 2023/24 Kenya Household Survey (KHS), was conducted by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).
- The survey also found that individuals in monogamous marriages have the highest mobile phone ownership at 89.1 percent, with males in these unions leading at 91.6 percent.
