President William Ruto has promised substantial financial incentives to the Harambee Stars if they defeat Zambia in the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) match on Sunday. This new pledge builds on previous rewards, aiming to motivate the team further.

• Each player will receive Sh2.5 million for a win against Zambia, with an additional Sh1 million and a two-bedroom house for winning the quarter-finals, leading to a cumulative total of Sh6 million plus a house per player.
• President Ruto made the promise on Monday, August 11, after Kenya's 1–0 win over Morocco, and honored an earlier pledge by awarding Sh1 million each to 27 players and 15 technical bench members, totaling Sh42 million.
• If the team reaches the finals, the promised houses would be upgraded to three-bedroom units.
