Gachagua Accuses President Ruto of Terror Links, Defies Arrest Threats - August 2025

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua criticized opposition leader Raila Odinga for claims Gachagua betrayed political allies by aligning with President William Ruto. Gachagua also accused President Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration of having ties to terrorist organizations like Al-Shabaab. In response, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki labeled Gachagua's claims as "reckless." Leaders of the DCP party warned the government against threats to arrest Gachagua upon his return from the United States. Gachagua has dared the Kenya Kwanza government to arrest him, stating he is not afraid of being arrested.
