Homicide detectives have discovered new shallow graves containing human remains in Kwa Binzaro village, just a few kilometres from Shakahola Forest, where over 400 individuals died in a doomsday cult tragedy. The discovery was made on August 11 following a public tip-off, raising alarms of further cult-related deaths in the area.

• Seven new graves were found, with four on a previously investigated five-acre plot, containing fresh bones.
• Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer Robert Kiinge stated victims appear to have been starved and suffocated, with bodies buried in polythene bags and covered with vegetables.
• Eleven suspects are currently charged with organized crime, radicalization, aiding terrorism, and murder, related to the initial Shakahola Forest deaths involving Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church.
