The Ministry of Transport has announced that the Gitaru Interchange, connecting the Western and Southern bypasses and the Nairobi-Naivasha Road, will be completed and opened within the next two months. This aims to alleviate persistent congestion along a crucial section of the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
- Completion of the Gitaru Interchange is expected within two months.
- Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir confirmed the completion will eliminate congestion at one of the busiest junctions along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
- The project is undertaken by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and will also facilitate connectivity to Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
