A court in Rongo, Migori County, has ordered the immediate exhumation of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer's body, allegedly buried without family consent inside a church compound on March 28. The move follows an application by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for further investigations into the officer's death on March 27 under unclear circumstances.

• The officer, a police constable, was reportedly buried at St Joseph’s Missions of Messiah in Africa church.
• The court ordered the deceased’s wife to identify the burial location to Migori County Health Officers, with security provided by Kamagambo police station OCS.
• Upon exhumation, the remains will be reburied at the plaintiff’s homestead, and four church directors previously arrested in connection with the death are expected in court on August 26.
