• Tigoi Girls from Western thrashed Bweranyangi from Uganda 9-0, with Diana Namachanja and Phily Lavender each scoring four goals.
• Defending champions St Joseph Girls Kitale were held to a 0-0 draw by debutants Ng’iya Girls.
• In boys' hockey, St Anthony’s Kitale narrowly defeated Mpesa Academy 2-1, while Kenyan champions Musingu School were stunned 1-0 by Kakunglu from Uganda.
