Huawei has launched the 10th Edition of its ICT Competition in Kenya, aiming to double participation from 6,000 to 12,000 students for the 2025 edition. The program, in partnership with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, offers free training in key digital skills and provides pathways to employment in the ICT sector.

• Since 2018, over 12,000 Kenyan students have benefited from the program, with many securing jobs in the ICT sector.
• National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula urged youth to embrace AI and digital skills for a rapidly changing job market, highlighting Parliament's support for ICT growth.
• This year marks record female participation, demonstrating the program’s role in closing the gender gap in the country’s tech sector.
• The initiative supports Kenya’s National AI Strategy (2025–2030) and aligns with the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy (2020–2030) to boost Africa’s share of the global digital economy.
