The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially replaced Gloria Orwoba with Consolata Nabwire Wakwabubi as the United Democratic Alliance's (UDA) nominated senator through a Gazette Notice dated August 14.

• The IEBC's decision follows Orwoba's removal from the UDA due to her shift in allegiance and attendance at opposition rallies, leading to the termination of her party membership.
• Wakwabubi, a party nominee from Bungoma County and originally on UDA's 2022 party list, will assume Orwoba's former slot.
• The replacement comes after Orwoba lost a court battle against the UDA party, with Justice Lawrence Mugambi dismissing her case on grounds of misusing court processes.
