German football club FC Bayern Munich is ending its sponsorship deal with Rwanda, following pressure from fans and human rights groups over Rwanda's alleged support for M23 rebels in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

• The commercial sponsorship, initially signed in 2023, will be phased out, but Bayern Munich will continue youth football development through its academy in Kigali.
• The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Foreign Minister had directly urged clubs, including Arsenal, PSG, and Bayern, to cut ties with Rwanda.
• Rwanda's "Visit Rwanda" branding on elite European clubs is a key strategy for tourism, which accounts for over 10% of its GDP.
