Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has announced significant leadership changes at two major Kenyan hospitals: Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

• Richard Lesiyampe Leserian was appointed acting Chief Executive Officer of KNH on Monday, August 18.
• Joshua Clinton Ombiri Okise will replace Lesiyampe as acting CEO of JOOTRH.
• These reforms aim to align with the government's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) goals.
• The announcements follow President William Ruto's appointment of Abbas Gullet as Non-Executive Chairperson of the KNH Board for three (3) years, effective July 25, 2025.
