MP George Gitonga Muragura, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, has strongly refuted allegations by President William Ruto of a Ksh10 million bribery scheme during the passage of the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Terrorism Financing Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

• The President accused a section of the 15-member committee of collecting up to Ksh10 million to influence the Bill's passage.
• The Justice and Legal Affairs Committee vehemently denied soliciting or receiving any inducement whatsoever.
• The committee demanded to know which MPs solicited funds, who issued them, their purpose, and if the allegations were reported to law enforcement, stating any such MP is a criminal.
