Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has initiated a 100-day crackdown targeting individuals and landlords involved in illegal water connections within Mombasa County. The governor stated that these illegal connections contribute significantly to water scarcity by allowing the sale of water at inflated prices, equating the act to “treason.”

• The crackdown began three days ago in Changamwe, Mvita, and parts of Kisauni constituencies.
