Kenyan authorities have deployed a significant police presence, including water cannons and police trucks, near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as supporters gathered to welcome former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua back from the United States.

• A large contingent of anti-riot police, GSU units, and police vehicles were positioned around JKIA and along Mombasa Road.
• Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to land around 1pm, with his party calling for over one million supporters to attend.
• The Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, stated that police do not plan to apprehend Gachagua, treating his arrival as an "ordinary event."
