Doctors in Shanghai have successfully performed an unprecedented and ultra-complex surgery on a 55-year-old man, Mr. Li, who suffered a severe neck injury akin to an “internal decapitation” after being struck by a mechanical arm. • The patient, Mr. Li, suffered a rare and severe cervical vertebra fracture and dislocation on May 31 in Changshu.
• The surgery was performed at Shanghai Changzheng Hospital by a team led by deputy director of orthopedics Chen Huajiang.
