The COMESA Competition Commission has launched an inquiry into the proposed acquisition of two planes currently leased by Kenya Airways. This transaction involves global lessor Azorra Aviation Holdings, LLC and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd, with Azorra Aviation intending to acquire the aircraft from DAE.

• The review aims to determine if the deal could substantially prevent or lessen competition or go against public interest.
• Azorra Aviation, based in the United States, manages over 100 aircraft leased to more than 35 operators in 31 countries.
• Separately, the Commission is probing PEF Pharaoh Limited's acquisition of an 83% stake in Delta Holdings B.V., an Egyptian specialty chemicals manufacturer.
