President William Ruto has bestowed Kenya's highest civilian honor, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (CGH), upon His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the global leader of Ismaili Muslims. This award recognizes the Aga Khan Development Network's (AKDN) long-standing contributions to Kenya in various sectors.
- Over the years, AKDN has invested in numerous sectors in Kenya, including media, education, and health, running entities like Diamond Trust Bank and Aga Khan University Hospital.
- Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, one recognizing the Ismaili Imamat as a legal entity for international relations, and another for cooperation in environmental conservation, urban rehabilitation, and cultural heritage preservation.
- Prince Aga Khan V's sister, Princess Zahra, also received the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) for her leadership in health and social development.
