President William Ruto has issued a stern warning against fraudsters attempting to siphon funds from Kenya's Social Health Authority (SHA), vowing arrests, prosecution, and surcharges for illegal claims. He announced that more than 1,000 health facilities have been closed due to financial malpractices, attributing the success to SHA's digitization efforts.

• 25.7 million Kenyans have already registered under SHA, a significant increase from the 7 million under the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
