The dualling of the Kisumu Boys–Mamboleo (A1) Road in Kisumu is nearing completion, according to Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo. This key infrastructure project, stalled since 2018 due to budgetary constraints, aims to significantly improve connectivity and economic activity in the region.
- The 4.6-kilometre highway will feature a modern dual carriageway with outer shoulders, service lanes, and pedestrian and cycle tracks.
- The project was undertaken by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to rehabilitate and reconstruct the crucial highway.
- The road's imminent completion follows a 30-day traffic disruption announced by KeNHA from Thursday, August 7, to Friday, September 5, 2025.
