Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is on the brink of impeachment as Nairobi County Assembly MCAs have begun collecting signatures to oust him, nearing the required threshold just days after Kericho Governor Eric Mutai narrowly survived a similar attempt.

• 70 out of 123 MCAs have signed a petition to impeach Governor Sakaja following a unanimous resolution.
• The unprecedented move sees MCAs from both the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) uniting against the governor.
