This follows Rule 5 of the Advocates (Senior Counsel Conferment and Privileges) Rules, 2011, with recommendations to be made to President William Ruto for final approval.

• Applications must demonstrate irreproachable professional conduct and exemplary service, as outlined in Rule 7 of the Rules.
• The Committee on Senior Counsel, comprising representatives from key legal institutions, is tasked with evaluating applications and making recommendations.
• The application deadline is Friday, October 3, 2025, by 5:00 PM. This announcement follows the LSK's opposition to the Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which sought to grant the President powers to confer the Senior Counsel rank.
