The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has extended loan application deadlines for university and TVET students following a directive from Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba. This extension aims to ensure all eligible students can apply, building on the recent disbursement of substantial financial aid.

• HELB extended the deadline for first-time applicants to September 14 and for continuing students to September 7.
• The directive by Education CS Julius Ogamba ensures that 802,159 students across universities and TVET institutions benefit.
• A total of Ksh23.16 billion has been disbursed for student financial support, with HELB disbursing Ksh19.06 billion and the Universities Fund providing Ksh4.1 billion in scholarships.
