Just days after surviving an impeachment attempt, Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has executed a significant reshuffle, sacking 12 officials and reorganizing his county government to ostensibly improve service delivery.

• The reshuffle, detailed in Executive Order No. 1 of 2025 issued on September 1, saw three acting County Executive Committee (CEC) members take on expanded responsibilities.
• Key officials ousted include Yusuf Dahir (formerly Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development) and Ali Wario Sarita (formerly Water, Environment, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change).
• Isiolo Deputy Governor James Lowassa also lost his acting role overseeing the Education and Early Childhood Development portfolio.
• The changes also involved renewing contracts for 21 County Chief Officers and revoking all acting appointments for other county chief officers, signaling fresh appointments.
