A multi-agency operation led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) shut down a major illicit alcohol brewing network in Kisumu County. The raid in Pap Onditi, Bolo area, resulted in the destruction of over 40,000 litres of contraband alcohol and the arrest of two suspects.

• Over 40,000 litres of illicit alcohol, including 200 litres of ready-to-sell chang’aa, 5,000 litres of molasses, and 35,000 litres of kangara, were destroyed.
• The operation was an intelligence-led effort by NACADA in collaboration with National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) and an Administration Police unit.
• Dr. Anthony Omerikwa, Chief Executive Officer of NACADA, attributed the success to the government’s new 100-day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI), spearheaded by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
