Nairobi County has launched a two-week crackdown in Eastleigh targeting landlords and tenants involved in illegal waste dumping. The directive, announced by Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria, aims to apprehend those failing to pay for waste management services and unlawfully disposing of garbage.

• The crackdown will commence on September 2 and last for two weeks.
• Mr. Mosiria stated that the operation will also target business premises, particularly hotels and shopping malls, dumping waste along roads and in drainage systems.
• This initiative follows a recent seven-day notice issued in Githurai 44 for landlords and traders disposing of raw sewage in open areas.
