A landlord in Eastleigh, Nairobi, was arrested on Wednesday in an ongoing crackdown against illegal dumping. The arrest followed a complaint from a neighboring landlord regarding waste, including human waste, dumped on his property.

• The arrested landlord was offered cash bail and agreed to pay for repairs and waste removal.
• Geoffrey Mosiria, Chief Officer for Environment for Nairobi City County, stated that legal action would be taken.
• The county has also ordered all landlords in Kamukunji Sub-county to subscribe to licensed waste management services and maintain cleanliness within a 10-meter radius of their properties.
• Additionally, Mosiria ordered all traders and hawkers operating on roadways in Eastleigh to vacate immediately, citing obstruction of emergency services.
