A multi-agency operation led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has dismantled a major illicit alcohol and narcotics hub in the Sigalagala area of Kakamega South, leading to arrests and massive destructions. The crackdown is part of the government's 100-Day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) against substance abuse.

• Over 5,000 litres of chang’aa and a staggering 100,000 litres of ‘Sigalagala’ illicit brew were destroyed.
• John Lisulu, an alleged main supplier of cannabis sativa to students of Sigalagala National Polytechnic, was arrested.
• NACADA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anthony Omerikwa reaffirmed the Authority's unwavering resolve to combat substance abuse.
