The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has ordered the arrest of Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo and seven others on charges of kidnapping with intent to cause grievous harm and robbery with violence. The incident occurred on June 19, 2025, in Machakos County, involving the alleged abduction and assault of the former Isiolo County Chief Officer of Health, Abdirahaman Mohamed.

• The ODPP directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to apprehend Governor Guyo.
• The victim, Abdirahaman Mohamed, was allegedly disarmed, attacked, kidnapped, and later abandoned at the Ruai Sewage area.
• Losses reported by Mohamed include a licensed Glock pistol with 15 rounds, an iPhone 16, and Kshs 70,000 in cash.
• CCTV footage from Outbark Hotel in Maanzoni placed Governor Guyo and seven other named individuals at the scene.
