Nairobi County Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has warned Kenyans about a new tactic used by thieves in the Central Business District (CBD) who are posing as police officers. This warning follows the arrest of a suspect found with National Police Service (NPS) handcuffs during a patrol.

• The suspect, a member of the street family, was taken into custody at Central Police Station.
• Mosiria stated that criminals are posing as police to harass, extort, and steal from the public.
• This arrest comes amid a surge in mugging incidents, some involving victims being drugged with Scopolamine, also known as "Devil's breath."
• Content creators are also being accused of daylight reconnaissance for evening robberies.
